HVAC warranties are a great benefit when you get a new system, but they can be a bit confounding. If your head is spinning from all of the information on what’s available, never fear. We’ve got your back. Take a look at our comprehensive HVAC warranty guide.

    The Manufacturer Warranty

Many homeowners assume the only HVAC warranty available is the one from the manufacturer. Though this is not the case, it is the standard. When you purchase a new system, be sure to register the equipment as soon as possible. Most have a limited window to complete that step. This warranty generally covers bad parts and manufacturing defects and lasts an average of ten years.

    The Installation Warranty

Make sure the company that installs your system offers an installation warranty. This covers everything related to faulty installation and covers your costs should you have an issue. If the installer made a mistake, they’ll cover the expenses to fix it, and most cover the work for one year from the installation date.

    The Extended Warranty

This is arguably the least beneficial type of coverage. The extended warranty kicks in when your manufacturer’s warranty expires. An extended warranty can come in handy should you have a system that isn’t regularly serviced and has excessive issues as it ages. Maintaining your equipment with a twice-a-year service call is generally enough to keep it in tip-top shape.

You wouldn’t buy a car without a warranty – don’t buy an HVAC system without one. Use a reliable HVAC dealer, and you can rest easy knowing that you’re covered. Contact your local McCall’s Supply, Inc. dealer for all the warranty information you need.
