What the Media Isn't Telling You About Air Quality
Air pollution and air quality are serious concerns for all cities and municipalities. We get air quality reports on the news, especially during times of high pollution and during allergy season. But there are things about air quality that the media doesn’t always cover. Here’s what you need to know:

Outdoor vs. Indoor

The media always focuses on outdoor air quality as the biggest impact on health. They tend to recommend that people stay indoors on days in which the air quality is particularly poor. What they aren’t saying is that indoor air quality can be almost as bad, and sometimes worse, than the air quality outdoors.

To maintain the climate control indoors, we close up our houses and business, which keeps us at a comfortable temperature. But with this comes the trapped pollutants that come in from outside as well as contaminants from within the building.

What Contaminants?

The media often leaves out the details on air quality that most affect us. These include bacteria, mold, mildew, pet dander, pollen, and toxins from cleaning products and household chemicals. These compromise our indoor air quality as much as air pollution.

Air filtration in your home or business can help improve the indoor air quality and make you feel better. So when the media tells you to go indoors, you can count on better air quality.
